Day 3

Day 3 of Orientation started early, with wake up at 6:30. Today the schedule called for a very busy day, and Nick our Project Manager wanted us to be downstairs at the vans ready with our bikes and in our biking jersey and shorts by 7:00. The day began with skills assessment, to allow the crew to see where everyone was at skills wise. We worked on riding together, individual skills and riding in parade formation.

What I was most excited for today was going into San Francisco and being able to tour Fisherman's Wharf. We took all of the vans down to the piers and ate as a group at IN-N-OUT burger and then split into groups and toured the area a little bit. Although I have been to the Bay Area before, it was nice to go down to all of the piers again and see them again. We went into a few of the shops, and over to Pier 39 to see all of the Sea Lions.

The last major activity of the day was touring the facilities of the company Clif. They have been a long time sponsor of Push America, and continue to be this year. For the past six years there has been a Pi Kapp Alum working at the headquarters and view their building and all of the neat things they had going on there. Clif has continued to be a family ran company, and it was interesting to see that type of company culture in place, especially because they are turning into such a strong and prevalent sporting foods company in this country.

The day ended with a quick check of the bike, and practice changing tubes in tires. Tomorrow we have our first practice ride, and I think everyone is looking forward to getting onto the bikes, and getting some solid miles in. Should be a fun day
